SKYN is producing performance athletic wear that is made from the same material used for its condoms

The battle for creating the best high-performance athletic wear rages on. Companies like Nike, Adidas, Under Armour are always researching and studying the best materials to use. However, condom company SKYN, might just hold the answer with its new apparel collection, SKYNfeel.

SKYNfeel athletic wear uses the same material the company uses for making condoms. While this is enough to get everyone’s attention, the reasoning behind it is what makes it an ingenious creation. This material, polyisporene, is soft and lightweight, which is perfect for long jumpers who need to stay in the air as long as possible.

Pauline van Dongen, the designer behind the concept, made SKYNfeel help jumpers prevent gravity from weighing their bodies down. Further, she designed it with an aerodynamic dragonfly-wing, which flaps based on the jumper’s movements.
