Have you ever seen something in an Instagram snapshot and wanted to add it to your wish list, only to have trouble finding it again? SHOPTHAT is a social shopping service built on Facebook Messenger looking to make it easier for fans to locate and buy products. When a user likes a photo or video with the SHOPTHAT icon on Instagram or YouTube, the products from that post are collected by SHOPTHAT. From there, users can review their liked posts and add them to a shopping cart, and in a few simple taps, make a purchase.

The platform relies on having influencers sign up, which it incentivizes by having no minimum follower count, letting them choose the products they want and paying them whenever their post leads to a purchase, cutting out the sponsored-content middleman. The platform works mainly for beauty products but it may open up to other items over time.
