Converse’s New Shoe Collection Is Waterproof
A utilitarian new line from the sneaker brand is ready for all kinds of weather with Gore-Tex
Those who love classic Chucks no matter the season will delight in the newly launched collection from Converse. The Urban Utility Collection focuses on a utilitarian look while making sure that wearers are kept warm and dry this winter.
The collection is lead by the Chuck ’70 Hiker (a reconstructed version of the original Chucks) and the Converse Jump Boot. The line, which also includes apparel like jackets, sweatshirts and sweatpants, is the result of a collaboration with artist Cali Thornhill Dewitt and streetwear brand Slam Jam.
What makes the collection special is the addition of Gore-Tex, a breathable and waterproof fabric. Converse also put reflective panels for extra visibility and used durable, military-inspired textiles for extra sturdiness.
