Recipient of the 2017 japan good design award, belay peelable paint provides a protective coating on furniture surfaces

Making a perfectly round snowball and popping bubble wrap are just some of the things that are ultra-satisfying to some. But Japan has another thing in mind that could give people kicks—painting on furniture. BELAY is peelable paint that will give any user instant gratification once the peeling begins.

BELAY, a 2017 Japan Good Design Award recipient, is dubbed as the ‘coat of beauty'. Rather than change the color of a piece of furniture, it gives the surface protective coating to ward off stains and scratches and a newer and more polished look.

Simply start by wiping the surface with water and drying it with a washcloth. Paint the surface with a roller. Let it dry for at least 24 hours and then peel the paint off. Make sure to peel it off from the edges with the help of a piece of tape.

BELAY can be used on wood, tile, resin, and stone. Scentless and transparent,  it is available in a matte and glossy finish.
