Most commonly associated with high-rise office buildings and apartments, NYC’s Midtown also hosts some of the largest and most impressive flagship retail experiences in the world. Just a casual walk up Madison Avenue serves as an impressive piece of theater to see the multi-million dollar storefronts and window installations designed by leading brands all competing for attention.

Below are six of the most exciting new retailers shaking things up in Midtown. For even more NYC shopping insights, PSFK’s New York City Retail Guide presents a detailed neighborhood-by-neighborhood look into the innovations shaping the city’s retail landscape.

TurnStyle

Located below Columbus Circle, this underground market is a destination for commuters and visitors. The periodically changing vendors include the newly added Arepa Factory and artist Marc Tetro.

Address: Passageway between 57th St. & 8th Ave. and subway platforms at 59th St. Look for orange subway entrances on east side of 8th Ave. at 57th and 58th Streets.

Coach House

The luxury fashion label’s first global flagship functions like a brand museum, with its custom art installations and personalization stations that immerse visitors in the brand’s heritage of quality craftsmanship. Even for visitors who aren’t planning on purchasing a designer bag, the friendly staff encourage exploration of
the space.

Address: 685 5th Ave.

Microsoft Store

This location stands out for its second and third floors, which feature Xbox, Dell and Alienware platforms respectively. Gaming demos are available throughout, including a trial of Microsoft’s HoloLens Xbox games.

Address: 677 5th Ave.

Whole Foods Bryant Park

In an effort to become a food destination for the many office workers, tourists and residents in the area, this Whole Foods store offers a wide array of in-store dining options and specialized services in addition to the typical product selection. The store’s large size and store-within-a-store layout make it feel more like an indoor market than a traditional grocery store.

Address: 1095 6th Ave.

Adidas

This brand flagship features a stadium-inspired design, with a tunnel-like entrance, bleachers where shoppers can hang out and watch sporting events and chain-link fencing throughout. The store includes treadmills, a short track and a turf area with soccer and crossfit equipment where customers can test shoes before purchase.

Address: 565 5th Ave.

Urbanspace Vanderbilt

Located steps from Grand Central, this indoor, year-round food hall features a rotating selection of approximately 20 artisanal and foodie-centric vendors, offering everything from donuts to ramen.

Address: 45th St. and Vanderbilt Ave. (NE corner)
