Imagine floating along a serene river, with all the comforts of a hotel spa. Soon you won’t have to imagine, because the team behind Sweden’s popular Treehotel has designed exactly that. The floating Arctic Bath hotel will freeze into the Lule River in Swedish Lapland during the winter and float on top of it the summer.

The hotel will be opening sometime this year, through a partnership between architects Bertil Harström and Johan Kauppi and adventure travel service Off the Map Travel. It will have six cabins, and a spa with saunas and hot and cold plunge pools.

The hotel plans are also environmentally friendly, with a relaxing a sleek aesthetic. “The designs created are not only locally relevant and striking, but are also developed with the highest environmental standards in mind, using local materials and with a minimal, to no, impact on the environment,” reads Off the Map’s website.
