MTV Fit will publish bite-sized wellness content on social media as an alternative to luxury fitness brands

MTV International has launched a business line focused on fitness called MTV Fit. The new vertical will concentrate on nutrition, mental health and workout videos aimed at a millennial audience.

Available mostly on Facebook and Instagram, the platform will cover both physical and mental well-being with a goal of elevating body-positive messaging. With bite-sized content ranging from smoothie recipes to reviews of mental-health apps and 60-second workout videos, MTV Fit hopes to be both accessible and fun.

MTV Fit does have its share of competition on social media feeds flooded with wellness content. To combat this, the brand is using a bright color palette, graphics and simple editing style that allows videos to be captioned and translated into different languages.

With the proliferation of luxury fitness brands like SoulCycle, Peloton and countless others, MTV Fit wants to offer an alternative to getting fit that isn’t expensive, aspirational or unattainable. MTV Fit says most of its workouts can be done in home or outside, and won’t break the bank.
