Rent the Runway has expanded the digital capabilities of its physical stores. The company, which rents out clothes through monthly subscriptions and can make fashion suggestions based on consumer behaviors with its platform, introduced iOS scanners and self-service kiosks from Aila Technologies at its brick-and-mortar locations in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Topanga and Washington D.C.

With this addition, the company can streamline data and operations by combining its digital inventory with physical returns, rentals and exchanges. It also improves the customer experience by allowing them to conveniently drop off used items and exchange pieces without having to wait.
