Brisbane Airport partnered with a local service to make cryptocurrency payments available for travelers in its terminals

Brisbane Airport has announced plans to partner with TravelbyBit to allow travelers to use several forms of cryptocurrency at the retail locations in the airport. This marks the first international airport to use digital currencies actively throughout its establishments. Choices of currency include Bitcoin, Dash and Ethereum, among others.

The goal was to make it easier for travelers to make payments while abroad, as digital currency doesn't have the same exchange rates as typically apply to national currencies. An exact date for when these payment services will become available was not specified.

TravelbyBit plans to expand to the other industries under the umbrella of tourism in Brisbane to make it easier for travelers to use cryptocurrency throughout their stay.
