Nike Rewards Workouts With Premium Perks
Nike's new Unlocks reward their users for meeting certain goals by providing them with free services
Healthy habits are their own benefit, but fitness apparel and tracking company Nike is looking to additionally reward people for reaching fitness goals with its apps. The new “Unlocks” (aka perks) are designed to motivate users while also forging a deeper bond between brand and buyer.
Now when people who use the Nike Run Club and Nike Training Club reach specific goals, they gain access to playlists on Apple Music, free meditation sessions from Headspace and free workout class credits from ClassPass. “For the first time we’ll be acknowledging that sweat equity and translating that into actual rewards,” Gillian Almy, the head of the NikePlus membership program, told Fast Company. This new incentive could be useful for people looking to get in better shape as well as those who simply want to get more out of their time at the gym.
