Old Spice taps into a game-loving audience by creating a functional (and funny) new character for D&D

Dungeons & Dragons is one of the most played tabletop roleplaying games of the last century, and with the renaissance of board games, it’s bringing back fans both young and old. Old Spice took notice and has created a character sheet for a new class of character: The Gentleman.

While the move is clearly a marketing ploy, the character class is fully functional. It plays like a bard, but is too overpowered for most Dungeon Masters to allow into play. The class comes with some bizarre abilities, like turning into an intelligent dog, spontaneously summoning a horse and healing allies with their Old Spice scent. They can even level up their entire party just by getting a haircut. The class is facetious but functional, and it shows how Old Spice is always able to find creative angles for approaching new audiences.
