The brand launched a digital tool that connects people to local causes as part of its commitment to protect the environment

Patagonia has continued to increase its social responsibility efforts, year after year. The company’s top leaders are passionate about environmental activism and will use the brand’s platform to do whatever they can to save the planet. So it’s not surprising that they are vehemently opposed to the current administration’s gutting of environmental protections.

Patagonia has already donated tens of millions of dollars to grassroots campaigns and created marketing to get customers more involved in environmental protection. Now, the company wants to take it further with a digital platform, Patagonia Action Works, that connects people to events, petitions, volunteer opportunities and organizations in their area. Developed with agency Someoddpilot, this digital tool helps people quickly search for specific environmental issues they care about and find ways to participate locally.

Non-profits that receive grants from Patagonia can communicate with each other while also posting valuable information about the work they are doing, and requests for volunteers and donations. Although signing petitions is one useful way to act, people with specific skills—such as a designer or programmer—can volunteer their time to consult on specific tasks like making infographics or building the organization’s website.
