A new collection of designer collaborations inspired by classic Nintendo is being promoted with in-store games and events

Department store Bloomingdale’s has launched a new collection of designer collaborations inspired by the world of the Japanese video game company Nintendo. Like Chanel’s recent creation of a pop-up arcade, this ‘Let’s Play’ campaign taps into the nostalgia around retro video games.

It features exclusive merchandise, in-store events and activations. The merchandise includes clothing for men and women, furnishings and accessories designed by Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith, Sovereign Code, Onia, Original Penguin, Gitman Vintage, Barneys Cool, Bricktown and Herschel—plus S’well water bottles and a Sunnylife paddle ball set emblazoned with Super Mario character images. Select Bloomingdale’s locations will have Let’s Play pop-up shops with gaming stations where customers can play some classic Nintendo games.
