Toshiba Breaks Into The Enterprise Market With New AR Glasses
The Japanese conglomerate partnered with Vuzix and Microsoft to launch a new AR headset geared at the enterprise market
Toshiba announced the launch of dynaEdge, an AR headset with a display from smart-glasses manufacturer Vuzix that is tethered to a battery-powered Windows 10 PC. The new product retails for $1,899 and is meant to appeal to the enterprise market, one of the fastest growing spaces in virtual and augmented reality.
While consumer-facing AR glasses are still a ways off, several players have launched in the workplace space, and Toshiba is betting that partnering with Windows will provide a differentiating factor, making for easier adoption by companies running on the Windows platform.
