The hotel and resort chain teamed up with Coachella for its second year to set up eight decked-out yurts amidst the festival grounds

International brand Marriott Hotel unveiled ultra-chic pop-up hotel rooms at Coachella, a 10-day music and arts festival held every April in the Colorado Desert. In its second year of partnership with the popular event, Marriott pitched eight decked-out yurts (circular tents) that featured designs inspired by the Dubai, Barcelona, Bali and Hollywood locations of the luxurious W Hotels & Resorts—a chain owned by Marriott.

The lucky guests of these yurts won their stay by using their Marriot loyalty points on a bidding platform setup by Marriott, and had the unique opportunity of being put up right on festival grounds (typically, Coachella attendees have to schlep long distances between sleeping accommodations and venues). Even more, the winners were equipped with everything a festival-goer could want: air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a stocked mini-fridge, a private bathroom and shower area and 24-hour security.
