Old Spice Managed To Stuff An Entire Blazer Into A Magazine
GQ readers can pull a paper sport coat doused in cologne from the pages of the magazine's April issue
Teenagers looking for a cheap source of cologne before a big date could always turn to magazine samples for a quick freshen up. But readers of the April issue of GQ got not just a free sample of Old Spice’s Captain scent, but an entire paper sport coat doused in the aroma.
Old Spice says the scent “smells like the bold determination it takes to stare down the open ocean and laugh, with an invigorating splash and fresh sandalwood.”
The unique campaign is the work of Portland based Wieden + Kennedy. We wouldn’t recommend wearing the Old Spice Captain blazer to any jacket-required restaurants, but it would certainly get a few laughs at the corner tavern.
Other “premium” scents in the new Old Spice Red collection include Nomad, Captain and Ambassador, and they’re available in deodorant, body spray, body wash and shampoo form.
