In Brief

The Stircle is a fixed platform that spins drinks around in order to combine their elements, without creating the waste that traditional plastic stirrers do

It’s no secret that our dependency on plastic is hurting the planet in a big way, especially when it comes to straws and stirrers. Design studio Amron developed a more eco-friendly way to make sure your coffee is perfectly mixed without using anything disposable.

The Stircle is a platform that, when a drink is placed inside, spins quickly in a circular motion to stir the contents within the cup. The cup spins in one direction for several sections, and then the other, to ensure that all the components are mixed together thoroughly. The device could be installed in a coffee shop’s counter for customers on the go. Scott Amron, who created the device, said he was inspired by the fact that 400 million stir sticks are thrown in the trash per day, and wanted to find a way to reduce waste.
