Toyota dealers incorporated new safety technology, like distance detectors and a color alert system, into a bicycle to advertise the Camry's features

Southeast Toyota Distributors partnered with advertising agency 22squared to build a high-tech bicycle outfitted with all of the Japanese auto manufacturer’s latest car safety features. In collaboration with Priority Bicycles, the team equipped the bike with a headlamp that moves up and down as the bike accelerates and decelerates, increasing visibility to cars on the road; special sensors that can detect when objects are close by; a multi-colored light panel featuring red, yellow and green tones; and even a button that will emit the sound of the Camry’s car horn when pressed.

The purpose of designing this ultra-safe bike was twofold. While the Toyota dealers wanted to advertise the latest Camry’s safety features, like a lane-alert system that lets drivers know if they’ve drifted, and the auto maker’s commitment to safety in general, the bike also raised awareness for bike road safety, an ongoing issue for many communities.
