The Tetra Hotel is a new take on travel lodgings, featuring a flexible, futuristic and eco-friendly design of move-able concrete pods

Innovation in the hotel sector to invent new and creative accommodations has yielded everything from a floating hotel in Sweden to a moving truck. Now, the engineers at WSP are working with architects at Innovation Imperative to create modular hotel pods that can be arranged in various arrangements to form the best hotel for its location.

The pods are made of concrete panels, featuring sharp edges and a futuristic aesthetic. Dubbed the “Tetra Hotel,” this new lodging is set to be completely sustainable, as the panels are sourced from local materials and constructed on-site. Additionally, the mobile hotel is designed to be carbon-neutral.

A key idea of the project is the ability to install a hotel in remote sites around the world, allowing guests a more immersive and off-grid travel and accommodation experience. The first locations will be revealed this summer, and according to Dezeen sites in Cape Verde, Norway, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Hungary and the U.K. are being scouted.
