Retail Community Wants To Help Emerging Designers Grow Their Businesses
50m provides budding designers with rack space, an events spot for mingling and ongoing mentorship opportunities
London artists Something & Son recently created 50m, a community for emerging designers looking to showcase their work while networking with others. The new space will soon launch at Eccleston Yards, a destination that offers affordable rent for independent businesses.
According to Insider Trends, designers will not only have access to an affordable retail space but also a coworking area, event room, cafe and gathering place for networking. There will also be a mentorship program featuring about 30 top professionals, including fashion photographer Peter Yip, to help designers grow their brand with informative talks and workshops.
Support systems for young brands are emerging to aid talent with the business aspects of a crowded marketplace. U.S. holding company Assembled Brands, for example, founded by CXI 2018 conference speaker Adam Pritzker, supports lifestyle entrepreneurs with operations infrastructure.
50m is set to open later this month.
