Amazon’s Online Streaming Service For Kids Comes To The Apple Store
Amazon FreeTime is a fun and educational app filled with family-friendly content from brands like Disney, Nickelodeon, Sesame Street, PBS Kids and more, now available from Apple
Amazon FreeTime, an app that gives kids easy access to appropriate content from videos and books to other apps, recently became available through Apple’s App Store. The app, previously available only on Amazon devices and the Google Play Store, comes to the iOS platform with fewer features but the same content.
A major drawback of the iOS iteration is the lack of immersive theme changes. iOS devices will keep their minimalist and perhaps less child-friendly aesthetics while running FreeTime. In Amazon devices, FreeTime turns the entire device (including the Amazon Echo) into child-friendly gizmos.
Netflix, YouTube and most major online content providers are now providing special portals where kids can enjoy age-appropriate content, as, according to a survey by Common Sense Media, children now spend an average of 2 hours and 19 minutes online. Amazon FreeTime starts at $2.99 per user, and offers greater accessibility for parents and children alike looking for kid-oriented online content.
