The brand launched an interactive game on Facebook as an activation themed around the World Cup that lets users bounce soccer balls like pros in augmented reality

Big Bazaar, a department store owned by Indian Future Group, has launched an Augmented Reality game for World Cup fans on Facebook. Using the camera on the Facebook mobile app, members of the social network can balance and bounce an AR ball on their head.

The game works similar to a filter, but inserts a ball that moves according to users and their surroundings inside the screen. The AR camera filter game was created by Alivenow, a Bangalore digital marketing agency.

“[The game] has been created keeping in mind that a football fan gets to enjoy the game in the real sense. At Big Bazaar, we wanted to engage with our customers during the Football World Cup and create a special experience for them,” said Pawan Sarda, head of digital at Future Group India. The game serves as an engaging and thematic activation for the brand around a cultural event that attracts the attention of the entire world.
