The clothing company Club Monaco has recently started hosting pop-ups in its New York City flagship store to help drive more customers to the space and to provide a unique, customized experience. The pop-ups rotate every few months and feature items from businesses not usually sold at the store.

Some of the offerings include perfume from the Mexican company Coqui Coqui, luxury goods items from Diptyque Paris and skincare from The Buff“The pop-ups bring in something new and fresh,” said Club Monaco’s global director of public relations and marketing Kerri Clark. “Because these switch out every three to four months, it’s an added reason to come back to our space.”

With online retailers like Amazon taking over how people shop for fashion, Club Monaco needs give its customers additional reasons to make repeat visits to the store. These pop-ups also offer personalized experiences like individual consultations based on clients’ skin type, which provide additional incentive for shoppers to visit the retailer’s brick-and-mortar location.

Before the pop-ups, the retailer holds various events, such as panel discussions to get customers excited. It also broadcasts these events live on Instagram for its online viewers. Club Monaco plans to offer upcoming pop-up shops in other locations, which include Southampton, Los Angeles, Boston, Toronto and Montreal.
