The shoe brand promotes its segue into beauty products with a bespoke beverage-and-manicure experience inspired by the colors and names of the polish line

The name Christian Louboutin has long been synonymous with luxury footwear, but in recent years, the red-soled French brand has branched out in other directions, primarily focusing on the beauty industry. This summer, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Paris will host the only pop-up nail bar once more (having done it in late 2017), which illustrates that the ephemeral shop was a hit for both brands.

The new Pop Collection features 10 nail polish shades, which can be paired with a signature unique cocktail, and will be available for customers to enjoy after receiving their manicures at the nail bar. As these polishes are significantly more affordable than the iconic shoes that Louboutin sells, the pop-up functions as a smart way to entice new customers with some of the brand’s lower priced products. In addition, the shop provides customers with a more immersive luxury experience, not just a luxury product.

Having launched a range of beauty products including makeup and nail polishes, bottled in such a way to mimic the spiky heel of his signature stiletto, Louboutin signed a new deal with Spanish company Puig earlier this year that will allow the former to expand into beauty, as well as make the products more accessible on a wider scale across more countries.

While the pop-up is currently only located in Paris, similar experiences may appear elsewhere in the near future, especially given this is the second one the brand has hosted in the French capital.
