Restaurant Dining Table Was Designed With Instagram Enthusiasts In Mind

The $10K table includes features like adjustable lights to help patrons get the perfect shot of their meal before posting it to social media

The recently opened steakhouse Boston Chops could soon be a star on Instagram—and not exactly because of what’s on the menu. The eatery in Boston’s Downtown Crossing invested in a $10,000 table designed to be perfectly compatible with social media. Patrons can now get the Insta shot of their meal just right, thanks to the table’s adjustable features, including moveable arm lamps and different light intensities.

To develop the table, which is available by reservation only, co-owners Chris Coombs and Brian Piccini consulted with social media influencers, photographers and architects. “Social media is a big part of the dining scene today and we didn’t have to think about it when we opened Boston Chops South End five years ago,” Coombs said, according to Forbes. “Now, it is imperative that photos of restaurant interior and food are beautiful when they are posted online by influencers. It is a great marketing tool for people to see our food, décor and cocktails and hopefully entice them to check it out for themselves.”
