The ticketing service is streamlining the consumer experience by letting fans buy without leaving social media

Numerous social media apps including Instagram and Facebook have integrated e-commerce into their platforms, and now Snapchat is teaming with SeatGeek to allow fans to buy concert and sports game tickets directly through the app.

This is the first time that tickets have been available for purchase directly through Snapchat, which will allow users to purchase without leaving the app by swiping up on the stories of their favorite musicians or sports players. The Los Angeles Football Club became the first team to employ this new feature and will open up the opportunity for others to do the same in the near future.

Going forward, this could become a much more effective way of driving ticket sales for not only major events, but also for smaller occasions that are unlikely to sell out quickly on regular ticketing websites. In addition, it allows talent to link the sale of tickets to their own social media profiles, creating a much more personal kind of interaction for the customer.
