Educational Institute Designs Health-Focused Restaurant To Test Wellness Theories
The Glion Institute's restaurant uses locally-sourced produce to test its health and wellness theories, providing field research for students while also offering the community wellness-focused food
The Glion Institute of Higher Education is setting its sights on teaching with its student run-restaurant, Fresh. The focus of the intiative is on the study of well-being and how the concept can be integrated into the business world.
Fresh aims to imbue that philosophy into its service. The restaurant sources all of its goods and produce from local providers, and its supplies are sourced from locations within a 50-kilometer radius of the restaurant.
Fresh functions as an in-the-field study on wellness innovation for Glion students. While providing delicious and nutritious meals to a community to elevate its quality of living, Glion can help test its theories and develop better products and services. By creating a completely sustainable and locally-fueled business model with Fresh, Glion is providing its students first-hand research experience on the institute’s main focus.
