Porch Partnership Allows Overstock Customers To Add Assembly Services At Checkout

Overstock.com, a huge online store for home items, is teaming up with Porch.com, a website connecting handymen with homeowners. The collaboration works so that for every home furnishing customers order, like a chandelier or a new sink, they can simply tick a box on the product page to also request for installation services.
Porch is giving Overstock shoppers access to its nationwide network of more than 300,000 home service professionals for a fixed price. Availing the service requires shoppers to provide their ZIP code to check Porch’s availability in their address, enabling the option to include installation or assembly to appear on product pages.
Today’s customers expect assistance with installation, increasingly demanding brands to provide them with services all along the purchase path, including the post-purchase phase, which is particularly important when it comes to home goods. Thanks to this partnership, Overstock shoppers will have a smoother experience shopping for items without worrying about the logistics of hiring a professional to install them, and save time by taking care of assembly plans while making the purchase. The team-up will be competition for Amazon, who also linked Amazon Home Services to its retail services to help better serve customers.
