A hotel chain created a smartphone app that curates personalized trips for customers after they've conducted a biometric-capturing quiz, taking personalization to a new level and paring down options to provide optimal results

Seeker, an AI-enabled quiz, allows a consumer to tailor his or her best trip based on his or her biometric data. The quiz was created by French hotel chain Accorhotels and is composed of 70 questions that enable the future travel guest to choose a vacation destination most closely aligned with his or her environmental and social preferences.

Quiz-takers have the option to use the quiz’s facial recognition tool, which uses the subject’s heart rate, EEG and skin response to evaluate what experiences suit the participant’s psychographic needs.

Using AI-enabled intuition, the camera’s complex algorithm takes a person’s pulse to create a custom destination shortlist. This shortlist allows the customer to be alleviated from one of the most prominent customer pain points in our post-material economy—the paradox of choice. Without having to endure the overwhelm individuals often face during the buying process, the consumer is rapidly pushed down a hotel’s sales funnel.

By curating a custom list of travel experiences for its clients, each subject feels special and significant. Furthermore, he or she will be inclined to trust in the technological travel tool. Through hyper-curation, Seeker creates and completes the entire consumer journey, quite literally, in front of the individual’s eyes, moving the customer to purchase a piece of his or her future paradise.
