Tracer aims to eliminate scalpers by enabling a securer ticket buying experience, ultimately giving performers and promoters more control over their ticket sales

Tracer is aiming to take scalpers out of the ticket purchasing experience with its new smart ticket. Implementing blockchain technology, Tracer allows promoters to keep close track of the tickets from the time they are sold all the way up until show time, even allowing promoters to decide whether the ticket is eligible for resale and where those resale profits would go.

This platform aims to allow performers and promoters more control over their ticket sales, which has been lost to the rise of scalpers and less-than-legitimate ticket retailers. The ticket-selling industry has long-since been monopolized, which has negatively affected the pricing and profitability of performances—often resulting in increased fees for fans. Because of scalpers, artists lose out on about eight million dollars in ticket sales. Tracer is helps artists and performers maintain the ability to set the rules of their ticket sales.
