Aerie Builds On Its Body Positive Mission With In-Store Additions

The lingerie retailer created dressing room add-ons that encourage community-driven support, body-positive staff training and an updated measuring system

Fashion brand Aerie is best known for its promise to use a diverse set of models and no retouching of its ads. Now, the retailer is taking it to the next level by promoting body positivity and inclusivity in its stores through a new shopping experience.

As part of its Aerie Bras Make You Feel Real Good campaign, stores will now have a 360-degree bra shopping experience with four new collections: Real Happy™, Real Sunnie™, Real Me® and Real Power™, with special fabric. The stores’ dressing rooms will feature the opportunity to leave positive and encouraging sticky notes for other customers as well as a body-confidence program being implemented with all the store’s staff. The brand even redesigned its fit system, Best Fit Finder, to be easier to use by both store staff and customers.

Besides incentivizing store visits, the brand’s goal with this initiative is to build on and stay true to its mission to be more “real.”
