Meal ideas on Allrecipes.com are now shoppable so home cooks can have the necessary ingredients delivered on-demand via AmazonFresh

Same-day delivery programs have helped to cut down on the time that busy consumers spend at the grocery store. Sometimes, however, those consumers find the perfect recipe and they just have to make it that same day. Allrecipes.com and AmazonFresh have announced a new partnership to get those customers the ingredients they need via shoppable recipes, and then delivered via the Amazon Fresh same-day delivery service.

Shoppers can view dinner ideas on allrecipes.com. When they find one they like, they can order the necessary ingredients with one click, a shoppable content strategy detailed in PSFK's Content & Commerce Debrief report. While Allrecipes will curate the food brands listed for each recipe, consumers can also change any brand in their cart and then can select their preferred delivery schedule.

While Allrecipes has long had a geotracking feature that allowed users to find necessary ingredients in local stores, this partnership with Amazon additionally will allow cooks to save the trip to the grocery store altogether. The partnership with a same-day delivery service also enables the customer to receive meat, fruits and vegetables that are optimally fresh.

Allrecipes sees this service as a marriage of convenience. According to Jon Werther from the Meredith Group, “Our integration with Amazon will make it easier for millions of home cooks to order all of the ingredients needed for dinner that night or for a weekly meal plan—and have them delivered to their doorstep within hours.”

The program is currently live and many of Allrecipes' most popular meals are now enabled. For more examples of how retailers are marshaling shoppable digital content to drive sales, see PSFK's recently launched Content & Commerce Debrief.
