The five-part anime series, which will premiere on Foot Locker's Instagram and YouTube channels, will give customers an early look at ASICS' latest clothing and footwear line

Japanese apparel manufacturer ASICS is incorporating its heritage into the brand with its ‘Welcome to the Dojo‘ line of clothing and shoes. To help celebrate the release, the retailer teamed up with Foot Locker for a series of anime videos that feature two competing dojos.

The hero of the story in the videos is called The Sneaker Samurai, who has his treasured ASICS stolen and is on a mission to find them. Viewers can watch the five-episode series, featuring model Luka Sabbat and rappers Princess Nokia and YFN Lucci, on Foot Locker's Instagram and YouTube channels.

Once the customers are finished watching the series, they have the opportunity to purchase, as “each video will also be shoppable, meaning that viewers can purchase the apparel or footwear directly from the platforms.”

Instagram and YouTube have are increasingly becoming invaluable tools for brands and retailers. Not only are businesses using them to reach a younger demographic, but they also are marshaling them to offer customers more immersive experiences. The videos will premiere on August 21, 3 days prior to the launch of the Welcome to the Dojo line.
