DTC decor brand Clare aims to streamline how customers select paint colors, eliminating trips to the hardware store by digitizing the entire process

Buying interior paint is becoming much easier for homeowners thanks to Clare, a home decor startup. Founded by renowned designer Nicole Gibbons, the service guides consumers through the entire process from selection to purchase—and it all takes place online.

After using the Clare Color Genius to provide some initial information about their style preferences and goals for the space, customers will receive a trio of color suggestions from the brand’s 55 eggshell finish wall colors and 10 semi-gloss trim shades. Next, a calculator takes the guesswork out of ordering by determining the exact amount of paint and primer necessary for the room. If customers aren’t ready to commit just yet, they can also opt for $2 peel-and-stick swatch samples to explore their options before making a decision.

As a bonus, Clare’s acrylic paint is not only durable and virtually scent-free, but environmentally friendly as well—all of the products boast the GREENGUARD Gold-certified label.
