The services, including in-flight nurses, will provide support to customers throughout the entire journey, helping make air travel feasible for those in need of aid while also reducing costly health-related flight delays

Etihad Airways launched two services that ease the flying experience for passengers with pre-existing medical conditions. While the first service allows passengers to see and receive clearance from an Etihad doctor who specializes in travel medicine, the second offers customers access to in-flight nurses.

This program eases the transportation service by picking up fliers at their homes or hotels, taking them through boarding and even sitting with the clients on the flight. Etihad only offers the service to passengers flying from the United Arab Emirates, starting at 1,500 U.A.E dirhams or $408.

Customers interested in these programs can request services through the company’s website and fill out the needed forms, which are then emailed back to the company. By offering these services, Etihad can avoid confusion with forms or health-related delays—which can cost an airline up to $230,000—caused by regulations towards persons with pre-existing medical conditions.
