Ford Motor Company is partnering with the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) to provide patients with non-emergency medical appointments transportation across the eight hospitals and institutes that make up the center, and to improve medical access across Metro Detroit for all.
It is estimated that 3.6 million Americans are not able to acquire the healthcare they need due to lack of transportation. Ford’s Go-Ride service aims to makes it easy for DMC staff to schedule and book transportation for their patients, providing individuals a safe and trustworthy service to receive the care they need.
Ford Go-Rides’ drivers are professionally trained and drive vans that are able to accommodate the needs of people with mobility challenges. According to the automaker, GoRide’s transportation service has a 97% on-time pick-up and delivery average, which has enabled medical care providers to better serve their patients.
