To stay in competition with streaming services, NBCUniversal is releasing WatchBack, an app that lets viewers accrue points by watching NBC, USA and Bravo shows, and exchange them for gift certificates

Broadcasting giant NBCUniversal is creating a streaming reward system of sorts that will allow viewers to test programs and receive points to go toward any number of perks.

WatchBack is the network's free app that will give viewers access to a selection of full episodes from the brand and will work as free advertising for some of the lesser-known content also owned by NBCU. The episodes available on WatchBack will include features from NBC, USA and Bravo shows as well as some content not owned by the network. The points viewers accrue while watching on WatchBack can go toward gift certificates as well as other rewards and perks.
