Social Platform Lets Users Buy Upvotes And Downvotes With Bitcoin
Thundermessage, a new social newsfeed platform, allows users to curate their newsfeed content, by investing in bitcoin, users are able vote on what content deserve to be seen by the platform's community
ThunderMessage is a social aggregator similar to Reddit but with a cryptocurrency twist. The platform not only allows a user to share posts and comments but also to purchase upvotes or downvotes via Bitcoin.
Currently, ThunderMessage only is accessible to those with a Bitcoin wallet, supported by the Lightning Network. Satoshis, both upvotes and downvotes, cost 0.00000001 BTC and typically appear within seconds of the transaction. To make a purchase, users are required to scan an invoice with a QR code with their smartphone wallets.
For better or worse, the more Bitcoin that a user has, the more leverage he or she has when using ThunderMessage. Investors with higher amounts of Bitcoin available are able to heavily promote their own posts, Conversely, users ca downvote posts them with multiple Satoshis, pushing then out of the feed.
Considering that ThunderMessage only launched a couple of weeks ago, only time will tell if the platform, like Reddit, will attract a loyal user base and high levels of consumer engagement.
