10 Corso Como has always preserved its status as a unique retailer. Its luxury clothing stores in Milan, Shanghai, Seoul and Beijing feature eateries, gardens and fine art in an effort to allow customers to shop experientially, taking their time and enjoying the day. New Yorkers and visitors to the city will now be able to have the “slow shopping” experience as 10 Corso Como has opened its first U.S. store at Manhattan’s Pier 17.

The retailer, which features designers such as Prada, Gucci, Maison Margiela and Ferragamo, didn’t originally plan to open a New York Store. According to founder Carla Sozzani, the brand was drawn to the Fulton Market Building, where the aesthetic of the downtown Manhattan neighborhood and the design of the building matched the vision for an innovative and immersive store.

The slow shopping experience that 10 Corso Como offers is a key differentiator from other luxury retailers. Customers are encouraged to enjoy all the different features of the location as they shop, providing them with immersive and dynamic elements like garden surroundings and a cafe with seasonal menus. The store opened for business September 6 at South Street Seaport.
