Online planning platform Zola is expanding its modern take on the registry to include over 3,500 from the home goods store

Crate & Barrel is partnering with wedding registry site Zola to offer millennials a taste of both brands—the startup's modern take on wedding gifts combined with the home goods retailer's more traditional selection of merchandise. Thanks to the collaboration, users of the online registry can sign up for 3,500 products from Crate & Barrel's selection.

Zola offers an online suite of wedding planning tools and a platform for couples to choose from an unlimited variety of gifts, experiences and funds, as well as products from other retailers. The company noticed that a majority of the added gifts were coming from Crate & Barrel, so it decided to use this insight to enable more of what its consumers want. The partnership with the home decor retailer has expanded Zola's online reach, helping it corner a bigger piece of the coveted millennial market.

Ultimately, the collaboration seeks to combine the convenience and accessibility that younger consumers demand with more traditional item, like wedding gifts, bringing an enduring tradition into the 21st century. So far, the initiative seems to be a step in the right direction, as stats show that Zola is dominating its space: it cornered 10% of the market on its registry feature.
