Nordstrom’s Loyalty Program Rewards Customers Without Store Cards

The department store chain is introducing a new tiered program that makes benefits accessible to all its shoppers, hoping to encourage customer loyalty across the board

Loyalty programs ranging industries from automotive to beauty have been revamping their offers lately, hoping to better target consumers’ changing behaviors. Department store chain Nordstrom is joining the trend, redesigning its existing program to create a tiered system that rewards even customers who are not card holders with the retailer.

The Nordy Club, as the revamped program is called, has four different levels based on how much members spend every year. Those without the card are at the base member status, where they earn a point for every dollar they spend as well as receive free alterations and curbside pickup. The next level starts at $500 spent per year (which is also where card members start), then $2,000 and finally the top tier at more than $5,000, with credit card holders receiving even more benefits like early access to sales.

While Nordstrom’s program was already quite popular, with over 10 million members, the new system is designed to appeal to new customers, helping widen the brand’s customer base.
