Pet lovers earn 8 points for every dollar they spend through PetSmart's latest loyalty program, offering members added perks like free shipping and birthday gifts for pets

PetSmart launched its loyalty program, PetSmart Treats, this past week, offering redeemable rewards that hopes to leave pets happy and save shoppers money. The retailer is focused on providing these new incentives for shoppers to promote its redesigned app, which aims to let consumers shop the pet brands and services they love in an easy and convenient way.

This program includes a myriad of offers, the most significant of which gives shoppers the ability to earn rewards, referred to as treats, on a regular basis: For every dollar customers spend online, on the app or in PetSmart stores, they have the opportunity to earn 8 points. When they reach 1,000 points, shoppers are then able to redeem their rewards on hundreds of products and several in-store services.

Pets and shoppers are given several other incentives when signing up for the membership program: Once shoppers register for the program, they will automatically receive free shipping for all orders over $49. Shoppers also have the option of inputing their pets birthday to receive a free gift specialized for their pet on the designated date. Lastly, those customers with dogs have the opportunity to receive one free Doggie Day Camp session when they buy 10 sessions.

PetSmart’s loyalty program aims to provide consumers with omnichannel ways to interact with the brand and its products, in-store, online and via mobile, giving customers more incentive to make pet purchases with the retailer.
