In Brief

RebateMango partnered with airlines and hundreds of retailers to offer rewards that customers can immediately download to their accounts, offering greater flexibility and variety of rewards

Cashback sites have long been a way for shoppers to earn rebates by buying online products in a non-traditional way. Rebate programs earn funds by directing traffic to retailers websites, then share some of those funds with the consumer. New site RebateMango is aiming to distinguish itself by offering its customers benefits outside of the typical cash rebate.

One of the non-traditional rebates offered is loyalty program points for specific retailers, letting customers apply them for discounts on items of their choice. The site also offers airline miles, taking into account consumer interest in the commodity. Founder Paul Koh explains, “Each frequent flyer program has millions of members and we wanted to allow them to accelerate their redemptions by offering more ways to earn miles.”

By taking stock of the types of offers that are most useful and valuable to consumers and integrating them into its program, RebateMango hopes to offer greater incentive for customers to join its site, helping it cultivate competitive edge in its market.
