With the success of social platforms like Facebook and Instagram, businesses are looking to harness the power of digital communities by creating their own internal networks tailored to their brand and customer base. TripAdvisor has recently announced its social network that aims to connect its users with travel articles, influencers and like-minded friends.

The site functions as a personalize feed, containing information that may encourage users to visit a certain city and provide ideas for what they can do when they get there. Tripadvisor partnered with brands like Conde Nast Traveler, The Knot, GoPro, Popsugar and National Geographic, among many others, to provide customers with hundreds of pieces of interesting and helpful travel content.

In a competitive booking market, TripAdvisor intends to use the content travelers are interested in to help drive its commerce, helping push customers down the path to purchase by combining the interactivity of social media with travel resources. The site is slated to launch the social network later this year.
