Consumers Can Cook With Alexa Thanks To Culinary Platform Integration
Amazon has partnered with cooking app SideChef to enable a rich step-by-step kitchen experience for consumers, including voice guidance, photography and video recipe demos on visually-enabled devices
Amazon is expanding the capabilities of its voice command capability by making it more helpful in the kitchen. SideChef is a platform that will be incorporated into Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant, equipping the Echo series of devices with a full library of recipes and instructions.
Amazon’s mission to further automate the kitchen experience with this SideChef partnership involves supplying aspiring chefs with recipe suggestions, the ability to ask questions about next steps or measurements as they cook and access a full recipe book with over 7,000 dishes plus new options added weekly. Even more, the user experience will include the capability to prompt Alexa to repeat instructions, provide more information on ingredients and even set timers.
On its own, SideChef is an app that offers detailed step-by-step recipe walk-throughs and is available for free in the app store. Through this partnership, SideChef aims to raise awareness of its brand, while Amazon strives to diversify the usefulness of its voice assistant, helping consumers keep their hands and eyes on their cooking while providing them with the resources they need.
