Disruptive Convenience Store Offers Shoppers Natural Foods And Cashierless Checkout

Choice Market in Denver is taking an omnichannel approach to distributing its fast yet healthy food to its customers, offering them order-ahead capabilities, cashierless checkout, in-store amenities and more

Healthy and fast don’t often go hand-in-hand when it comes to food, but one company is hoping to change that trend. Denver-based Choice Market is building a new convenience store that will offer fresh produce along with typical store snacks and fast prepared food. And now, customers can make they trip even shorter by paying for their offerings ahead of time through their phone.

Choice’s newest facility will let customers order their food via mobile to pick up themselves, and bypass the cashier entirely thanks to AI technology and computer vision. In addition to fresh produce and locally-sourced items, shoppers will also find amenities like charging stations for cars and shooters and a bike-sharing terminal when the new store opens in the second half of 2019.

“There’s nothing more valuable than our customer’s time and we are really excited to offer this new format which allows them to combine several different shopping occasions in one stop, while providing them the option to skip the checkout process all together,” said Mike Fogarty, Founder and CEO of Choice Market in a statement. “If customers cannot make it to the store, we will deliver any of our products to their doorstep within 45 mins. That is true convenience.”
