Jenna Lyons is looking to push the consumer envelope, creating a digital platform with Turner Entertainment that will marry content and commerce by offering consumers a weekly television series accompanied by curated social media and shoppable content

How consumers shop and watch T.V. changes rapidly as technology expands, and brands are evolving to meet the new ways that customers consume. In this vein, former J. Crew president and executive creative director Jenna Lyons is working with Turner Entertainment to do just that with a digital shopping platform.

The plan is to start with an unscripted television series that will begin with daily online content and direct-to-consumer commerce in the lifestyle space and gradually evolve into a full-fledged platform in 2020. Turner Entertainment is hoping to utilize Lyons’s taste-making prowess to help expand into a new audience of customers.

“I want to build a story-driven, comprehensive resource for anyone to satisfy their personal style and help them make aesthetic choices. And we will bring that together with real-time entertainment with Kevin Reilly and the team at Turner, where I’ve found an inspiring and open-minded approach to thinking about commerce across multiple platforms,” Lyons says in a press release.
