Sedano's aims to streamline its operations while enabling greater customer convenience by employing robotic grocery order preparation at 14 locations across Miami

Sedano‘s, the largest independently owned Hispanic supermarket chain in America, is now rolling out centers for customers to pick up their groceries in select Miami locations.

To accomplish this, the retailer partnered with e-grocery automation startup Takeoff Technologies to introduce smart pick-up centers across 14 of its stores. After the customer places an order digitally, Takeoff’s robots begin to assemble the shopping lists in a matter of minutes, saving the customer time and helping Sedano streamline its operations.

The operation is powered by AI-enabled robots housed in dense vertical structures. Additionally, these pick up locations occupy a fraction of the space that a grocery store typically occupies, effectively turning Sedano’s grocery stores into micro distribution centers, and putting convenience at the forefront of the customer experience.
