The hospitality company's Tribune Portfolio hotels will offer overnight stays featuring dinner, board games and cocktails in a community-oriented package themed around Thanksgiving

The concept of Friendsgiving was created by groups of confidants who couldn't get home for the Thanksgiving, and instead decided to celebrate amongst themselves. Marriott's Tribute Portfolio brand is using the concept to bring people in the community together in its own take on the holiday.

Tribute Portfolio, which operates 28 hotels in the United States, is offering a Friendsgiving package at select locations. Each location will offer a different menu, but every experience will include a sit-down dinner, board games and classic cocktails themed around the holiday.

Tribune Portfolio VP of brand marketing explains, “This Friendsgiving package is a light-hearted way to showcase our hotels' captivating design, vibrant social spaces and sincere service in a way that brings together travelers and locals as well as friends and family.”

The packages do not have to be booked on actual Thanksgiving day, as the promotion will run from late October to early December. Tribune hopes to capitalize on the social holiday to offer customers a unique experience.
