Disruptive Ecommerce Platform Offers Shopper Discounts For Social Shares
NeWants and Bluefly collaborated on a decentralized platform that is poised to disrupt online shopping, marshaling the social media accounts of its buyers, affiliates and influencers to generate brand awareness and drive sales
Discounted luxury goods vendor Bluefly and ecommerce startup NeWants are teaming up to change how people shop online, creating a gamified digital shopping platform. Their interactive flash page will allow shoppers to earn discounts of up to 95% by sharing the product page on social media.
NeWant will run flash sale pages with featured discounted products, and will require shoppers to share the page in order to receive three attempts for higher discounts. The goal is to permit any NeWants affiliate to generate significant revenue by simply sharing their link—the more the page is shared, the more revenue is generated for the affiliates.
“Unlike traditional sales platforms, NeWants is a technology startup that’s based on the sharing economy,” said Alessandro Armillotta, founder at NeWants. “By decentralizing e-commerce we offer our crowdfunding-produced tech, home and lifestyle products that are presented directly to customers, cutting out the middleman, because funders share the profits from product sales.”
Featured products will be available for only 24 hours, creating exclusivity and incentivizing customers to return for new chances to save. Ultimately, NeWants intends for the collaborative initiative to blend social commerce with the sharing economy to allow a new kind of decentralized, gamified shopping.
